Two very different projects, same focus - build something that holds up and looks good doing it. One was a front entry stair rebuild with a full composite landing and metal railing system. The other was a backyard deck setup built around an existing hot tub, with a long staircase connecting it to an upper-level door. Both needed to be safe, clean, and built for daily use.
The front entry work is a good example of how much the right materials change things. Composite decking with a wood-grain texture, warm brown tones, and matte black metal railings - it cleans up the whole entry without looking overdone. No rotting boards, no annual staining, no splinters. Just a solid set of steps that will look the same next fall as they do today.
The backyard hot tub platform is a different kind of build. That one required some real planning - you've got a raised deck up top, a long staircase coming down, and then a separate platform at ground level wrapping the hot tub. Getting that to flow together cleanly takes more than just cutting boards to length. The gray composite ties it all together, and the black metal railing system runs the full length of the stairs for a consistent, finished look.
We also knocked out a smaller set of composite steps for a garage entry - simple, clean, and built the same way we build everything else. No shortcuts just because it's a smaller job.
This is the kind of work we focus on. Whether it's a front door landing or a backyard setup built around a hot tub, we build with durability and everyday use in mind. Composite material means no painting, no sealing, and no dealing with rotted-out boards a few winters down the road.
